Dear Members of the Jersey City Police Department Emerald Society:
I hope everyone had a very happy new year and this letter finds you in good health. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families all the best in 2008, as I go into my second year as the president of the Jersey City Police Emerald Society. 2007 was a great year for our Society, and this year is developing into another year filled with trips and activities for our members and their families.
Being a Society built on traditions set forth by strong leadership, our newly elected executive board is aspiring to continue this fine tradition. To achieve this goal the executive board is in the process of preparing to make this, our 40th anniversary, a very special year. Special plans are in the process of making our first event, the Dinner Dance, one to remember.
I would like to take this opportunity to ask the new members to become more involved with the society. I would love to see all of you at our monthly meetings. The meetings are held every second Wednesday of the month, 7:30pm at the Astor Bar on Montgomery Street. It is a time to get together, throw back a few and figure out how to keep the Society one of the best in the country.
One of the best times had by all is our Annual Dinner Dance. This year we will be celebrating our 40th Anniversary making it our largest event of the year. It gives us all an early start to St. Patrick’s Day with performances by the Port Authority Police Department Pipes and Drums and Irish step dancing. Check the Upcoming Events page for information as it becomes available.
You can also learn more about the society and our events from our website, photos from past events, updates and up coming events throughout the year, take a moment to visit the site. If you have any questions you can email me directly at President@jcpdes.com.
I look forward to seeing you at the upcoming events and may God bless you and your families.
President
